Guests will travel together by chartered bus from the resort to neighboring Post Falls, Idaho to view beautiful quilt displays and shop in a relaxed environment open only to retreat attendees.

Dinner will be served at a Welcome reception on the first evening and on the private dinner cruise on the final evening. Lunch is provided daily throughout the retreat. Guests may enjoy breakfast and dinner on their own, choosing from exceptional on‑site restaurants and a variety of dining options just steps away on Sherman Avenue.

Choose a lovely room in the Park Tower ($250/night), or an oversized room in the Lake Tower ($280/night), all with beautiful views and amenities. Discounted rates must be booked by April 7, 2026. The resort has graciously extended these discounted rates to include three days before and after the event, giving you opportunity to extend your vacation. Extended‑stay is subject to availability, so book early!

Quilt Retreat at The Coeur d'Alene Resort FAQ

Your rooms are not included with the price of your registration. Upon registering, you will be emailed a link to use to register for your rooms, or you can call the resort Reservation Department at 888-965-6542.  We have a special room rate guaranteed for our guests for the Lake Tower and Park Tower rooms if you reserve your room prior to April 7, 2026.

Park Tower rooms are $250.00/night for single or double occupancy and will have a mix of Marina and Park views

Lake Tower rooms are $280.00/night for single or double occupancy are oversized with a mix of Lake view or City/Mountain views

If you wish to extend your stay beyond the dates of the retreat, you will need to contact the Reservation Department directly. Room rates will be extended before and after depending on availability.

Please note: Group guests can change or cancel reservations up to 7 days prior to arrival to avoid forfeiture of deposit. If a change or cancellation is made within 7 days prior to arrival, the payment method on file will be charged for the balance for the entire stay as a cancellation fee.

The reception on Sunday evening will include dinner. There will be one meal (lunch) served every day (M-Th) as well as an afternoon snack. The Dinner Cruise will include dinner and the farewell breakfast will have a light meal. There is a coffee vendor on site where you may purchase additional goodies during their operating hours.

Breakfast and dinner are not provided, except where noted above. There are several very nice restaurants on site, or you may choose to explore downtown Coeur d'Alene for additional options all within walking distance from the hotel.

Food services are provided by Coeur d'Alene Resort; they cannot accommodate food allergies without prior notice. (After registration, you will be asked to provide complete dietary allergies.)

No. All guests attending the Shabby Fabrics Quilt Retreat at the Coeur d'Alene Resort will need to contact the Reservation Department to make their room reservations. This allows you to choose the room that best fits your needs.

Click the big, blue ribbon that says RESERVE YOUR SPOT and select the date for the retreat you would like to attend. (If you are not already signed in to your Shabby Fabrics customer account, you will need to sign in. If you do not already have a Shabby Fabrics account, you will need to create one.) Follow the instructions on the sign-up form and continue until you have received confirmation of your registration. PLEASE NOTE: Once you begin the registration process, your spot will be reserved for only 15 minutes. Be sure you are prepared with payment information before beginning the registration process.

We recommend paying in full at the time of registration, but if you choose to make a partial payment to secure your spot, the remaining balance will be automatically charged on the specified due date for your event. The final payment will be processed automatically, billed to the same card used at the time of registration. The due date for final payment for the Coeur d'Alene Resort Spring Retreat in May 2026 is April 6, 2026.

Yes, the Coeur d'Alene Resort is suitable for individuals with mobility issues. Please contact the resort directly to ensure your room is handicap accessible.

Yes. If you are bringing your spouse or significant other along, but they do not quilt, you only need to purchase one registration for yourself. If they would like to participate in the activities and meals, then they will need to purchase a registration as well. 

If you would like to register another person for the same retreat date, that person will need to create an account and sign up separately.

Check-in for the 2026 Spring Retreat at The Coeur d'Alene Resort will be Sunday, May 17 at 1:00pm. Individual hotel rooms will be ready by 4:00pm. Check-out will be Friday, May 22 at 10:00am.

The closest major airport is Spokane International (GEG). It is a little more than an hour from the airport to the campus. Specific directions will be included in your Welcome Packet.

Airlines that fly into Spokane International

The Coeur d'Alene Resort will provide transportation to and from the airport for a nominal fee. To reserve your seat for this service, you must call the Resort with your room reservation number and provide the following information BEFORE your trip:

The Resort has graciously offered to allow you to extend your stay for a day or two either at the beginning or at the end of the retreat at the reduced room rates depending on availability. Please call the Reservation Department at 888-965-6542 as soon as possible to secure additional nights at a discounted price.

Local quilters who wish to drive home each night may do so. Your retreat registration includes reception, all lunches, dinner cruise, and farewell breakfast as well as a chartered bus trip to the Shabby Fabrics Showroom for an exclusive event.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. For this reason, we offer the option to transfer any payment (partial or full) to a future event or to another quilter.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to events@shabbyfabrics.com. Please include the reason for your cancellation, and indicate either the future retreat you would like your payment applied toward or the name of the quilter to whom you wish to transfer your spot.

If a life event prevents you from attending the retreat and you are unable to transfer your spot or attend a future retreat, you may request a refund up to two weeks prior to the start of the event. Please note there is a $100 non-refundable fee to cover credit card processing and administrative costs.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the retreat are not eligible for a refund or transfer. If, during that time, you (or a family member, friend, or pet) become ill and cannot attend, the entire retreat cost is non-refundable and non-transferable. Likewise, once the retreat has begun, if you must leave early for any reason, the unused portion of your payment cannot be refunded.

It is possible that you are not subscribed to our email notifications. Your Welcome Packet will be mailed out after Final Payments have been completed. They will be mailed out to you by April 10, 2026.

The sewing room will be open from 6am–midnight for your convenience. Staff will not be available after hours.

Feel free to bring any projects, any size, that you're currently working on or have been eager to start. Additionally, we have selected a lovely array of projects that you can either entirely complete or mostly complete at the retreat. Purchase your favorite kit(s) from our Quilt Retreat Projects Category now. Jen and Tammy will be at the retreat and offering demonstrations and Tips & Techniques on how to complete these projects throughout the week. To maximize your sewing time, we recommend you purchase your kit(s) now, thoroughly read the instructions and cut the fabrics in your kit(s) before arriving.

The retreat will also feature gift bags, giveaways, pop-up quilt shop, inspiring trunk shows, and much more! Each day promises to be filled with fun and creativity!

Yes, if you indicated on the registration form that you are traveling in a group or with a friend, you will be seated together in the sewing room. 

We are excited to offer the Bernina 475 for rental during the retreat. It can be selected at registration for $150.00 for the entire retreat. You must select the rental during registration to reserve your machine. (If you decide to add it later, please contact Customer Service immediately as we have a limited number of machines available.)

The original packaging would be the most protective option. If that isn’t an option, we suggest a protective carrying case. We also suggest putting a piece of fabric on the feed dog, with the foot down and the needle up.

Etiquette details will be provided in your Welcome Packet. For instance, we ask that everyone silence their cell phones to avoid interruptions.

A list of supplies and suggestions will be included in your Welcome Packet. You will receive your Welcome Packet in the mail after the Final Payment Date.

Bring any projects of any size you would like to work on.

We will offer a pop-up shop for quilting supplies, as well as daily deliveries of items ordered from our website.

Yes, if the blades are 4 inches or less in length. We suggest that you pack any sharp objects in your checked luggage for security reasons. Click here for more information on TSA regulations.

Yes, we will have several cutting stations set up around the room. Stations will be equipped with large rulers (Creative Grids 6½” × 24½”) and a 45mm rotary cutter. Please bring any specialty rulers you might require for your project and a small rotary cutter if you like one next to you at your machine. We do suggest cutting your project PRIOR to arriving at the retreat; that way you can jump into sewing right away.

Each set of tables will have their own full size iron and ironing board.

Yes, if it does not exceed 1000 watts. Small travel irons work great, but full-size irons will not be permitted at individual workstations due to power requirements.

Yes, as long as it does not exceed 20” × 30”.

Shabby Fabrics will send you updates via the email provided at registration. You will also receive a Welcome Packet in the mail after the Final Payment Date.
